A multicultural school

Founded in 1999, the school caters for pupils of different nationalities and languages, from all over Europe, in 8 language sections (French, English, Spanish, Greek, German, Czech, Dutch and Slovak).
These are mainly the children of community staff. These are educational establishments jointly controlled by the governments of the member states. Our students come from all over Europe, and live in a multilingual, multicultural environment. The school attaches particular importance to the inclusion and well-being of all. It has set up an anti-harassment program called Kiva. Since last year, it has welcomed Ukrainian students.

An environmental priority

Sustainable education is one of the priorities of EEB3’s 2022-2023 annual educational plan. But the school, which is aiming for the “Eco-Ecole” label, has been committed to sustainability for several years, notably through EEBGreen, a group responsible for promoting sustainability.

Several initiatives are worth noting: The school is equipped with 532 solar panels on its roofs, as part of the “Sun for Schools” project, which cover 12% of its annual needs. Through regular displays, it provides information on the use of this locally-produced energy in relation to the school’s needs (share of this energy produced in relation to our total consumption in real time). It encourages
energy savings. It provides classes with large areas for gardening (educational garden).

Sustainability at the heart of our teaching

As of 2019, EEB3 has committed to integrating sustainability into its educational activities. A working group made up of student and teacher representatives, as well as members of the technical staff, under the patronage of the school principal, is responsible for bringing this theme to life throughout the year. The aim is to promote sustainability in all areas of the school, mobilize the community and initiate projects in this field. These are highlighted in the school’s media (school website, weekly school newspaper, presentations, action day, Belgian newspaper “La libre”).
